The logistics of order handling
Having taken up contact with us, a potential client first has to decide
whether a real need for our services is given. Should this be the case,
a meeting is then arranged between both parties. Funk, accompanied by
an assistant, will visit the client, answer any possible technical questions
relating to the project and will inspect the potential location of the
object in question. He will film and take photographs of the location,
specify where the deep-freeze container is to stand, examine power points
and drainage and draw up a contract with the client. All costs incurred
during this phase are borne by the client (business class tickets, hotels,
expenses, daily allowance). Upon presentation of all the necessary documents
(original invoice, bank guarantees if requested, verification of standing
security from stress analyst), we will collect an advance payment of
50% of the final invoice amount. Funk and his assistant will then return
to Germany. Two days prior to assembly, Funk and 5 - 11 members of staff
will arrive on location to erect the sculpture prefabricated in the
module assembly process at the workshop in Germany.
World-wide shipping is carried out using deep-freeze ocean-going containers,
accommodating 38 specially manufactured, insulated roller containers
made from wood and insulating material. This particular process was
developed by Funk himself and has proved tried and trusted for many
years.
Everything required for the overall perfection of the project is in
this container (sub-constructions, water pumps, tools, scaffolding etc.).
On the day after successful order fulfilment, the remaining ice is disposed
of at a location specified by the client and all items of equipment
loaded into an empty container for return shipment to Germany. The customer
will then pay the remainder of the invoice amount, company Funk takes
leave of the client and everyone involved looks forward to the next
time.
